And Still, there is More News!

Lucky Leo

When Love-A-Bull received an urgent e-mail that a 6 month old pittie was facing a death sentence because he needed a leg amputation, and nobody wanted to pay the bill…well that seemed a bit outrageous to us!  Needless to say, we stepped right in and offered to pay!  A Love-A-Bull member even stepped up and offered to foster, but before that could even happen, a veterinary staff member fell in love, and Leo got a permanent home.  AHHH, Lucky Leo!

Tyson

Does Tyson look happy to you here?  Like every dog should?  That is probably because it was taken on the one day when he was adopted.  We all thought Tyson had found his forever home.  Unfortunately, they returned him.  Why is that you ask?

Well, you see, he was not housebroken.  Tyson walks on a loose leash, sits, waits for his food, and is a complete gentleman.  Not bad for a dog that spent three years on a chain (and he is even housebroken now thanks to his foster).  But, his “adopters” gave up on him in one day.  Tyson’s foster reports that he loves belly scratches, bonding, long walks and LOVES, oh man, does he LOVE car rides.  I guess when you spend your whole life in one place, going places is REALLY interesting!  Does anyone know a human family that will finally give this beautiful boy that happy life forever? (I mean, he is sexy, look at him– he could just win anyone over).

He sure deserves a permanent place…and he is running out of time at his foster home.

Coco (Otherwise known as Coco-Puffin)

As many of you may recall, Coco was found as a stray in East Austin, limping in the cold.  She was emaciated, flea-covered and extremely weak due to injuries that came from being hit by a car, and had also recently delivered a litter.  She recovered and gained strength.  However, Coco still sustained some nerve damage from the accident, which causes her to drag her foot when she walks (read: adds character!).  She was seen by a canine neuro-specialist , who determined that the leg would not require amputation, and indeed, her foot could regain some function.  She then received physical therapy, and made lots of new friends at the Canine Rehabilitation and Conditioning Center.

Though she has gotten a lot stronger, Coco needs a brace or padded sock for short walks, but this does not slow her down!  She loves to play in the yard, explore new places, and get adoring looks from all.  She is calm but occasionally has bursts of energy when she does a little butt-wiggling dance.  She has a wonderful, friendly temperament, but is a little picky about her doggy pals (probably stemming from her days of suffering as a hungry, injured stray).

Olive (formerly known as Dahlia)

I don’t know if y’all remember the little black puppy that we pulled from TLAC a few months back?  She was only about 4-5 mos old, and had been in the shelter (in isolation) almost her whole life.

WELL – she has been adopted and she has GROWN!  She and her foster mom Deb are seriously so adorable.  Deb renamed her Olive, which is just the greatest name in my book.  Watch yourself – the cuteness is kinda overwhelming.  And, they are registered for Love-A-Bull’s August training class—so awesome!

Pepita

Pepita was part of the original Martindale trio (chained with Smiley and Harley).  She is in foster care and has completed heartworm treatment.  She is all smiles and love, and although she is thriving, she really needs a home of her own.  What do you think?  Space for one more???? We hear she behaves perfectly!!!!

Final thoughts for this blog entry: Jasper and Shiloh (from our last entry, have been adopted!)
