Believed to be the first of its kind in the country, class of seven pit-bull-type dogs completes intensive therapy-dog training program…

On Saturday, March 27, 2011, I got to watch pit-bull terriers change lives at a local Austin elementary school. Clearly, not the venue you typically hear the media reporting on pit-bull terriers hanging out with their guardians on the weekend…

KXAN’s Paw-some News Coverage!

This past Saturday, KXAN’s Jim Swift stopped by Gullet Elementary to witness the very first graduating class of Pit Crew therapy dogs.

Here, the dogs and their trainers demonstrated skills in a realistic school environment. But the day wasn’t complete without the graduation ceremony!

A big thank you to Jim for joining us to welcome these graduates!

Petfinder’s Adopt the Internet Day ~ March 15, 2011

Happy Adopt the Internet Day!

In celebration of Petfinder’s 15th birthday, they’re asking people everywhere to pledge to spread the word online about adoptable pet today, March 15, 2011.

Love-A-Bull uses Petfinder to showcase our awesome shelter and rescue animals ~ of course we’re in support! It’s late in the afternoon today, but never too late to find your new best friend!

See our Adopt-A-Bulls page to see some local furry friends looking for their forever home.

You can also join us most weekends at the Cedar Park Farmer’s Market outside Lakeline Mall to meet some of our dogs face-to-furry face!

Spread the word ~ adopt a dog today!

Love-A-Bull Happenings!

Love-A-Bull celebrated two big events last month. The first event invited everyone to get lucky with Love-A-Bull at our Valentine’s happy hour at Lucky Lounge. The event featured a pittie-themed cocktail, a new Love-A-Bull mug, a photo booth with Annie Ray and live music. What could make Valentine’s better than new merchandise and a photo booth, all in the name of fund raising for our beloved pitties?

The second event was a viewing party for the episode of Pit Boss featuring footage from Love-A-Bull’s 2010 Pit Bull Awareness Day activities! Frank graciously hosted the event and showed the episode on television screens throughout the restaurant. After the show we threw a “pittie party” with music, merchandise and more.

Lady Bird Gets Some Attention

Lady Bird

Check out this awesome blog post from some folks who stopped by the Cedar Park Farmer’s Market last weekend and found themselves wooed by Ms. Lady Bird – “More Than a Pretty Face, this Girl Needs a Home” on Fresh from the Heart of Texas.

Lady Bird is still looking for her forever home. I bet she would woo you too if you gave her a chance!

General: Scars

Foster mom says everyone has scars – some outside and sometimes on the inside. I have them. I got foster mom to take a picture with her new camera.

This is my elbow and leg. See the scars?

Here is also a close up of my face. You can’t really see too many scars on there.

Just because I’m a little scarred on the outside, doesn’t mean my insides are scarred. Foster mom calls me “a love.”  She says the family that adopts me is going to be very lucky. I think I agree.
