Love-A-Bull is an active participant in the Pit Bull Task Force. The Pit Bull Task Force was organized by the City of Austin to address the unique issues facing pit bulls and their owners. Among the topics tackled by the Pit Bull Task force are (1) promoting humane treatment; (2) increasing re-homing of pit bulls at the shelter; (3) reducing intake of pit bulls at the shelter (with a goal of reducing pit bull intake by 50% by 2011); (4) creating safer neighborhoods (through efforts such as education and improving conditions).

The Pit Bull Task Force is in its infancy, but the hope is that the synergy of participants will lead to a better outcome for the dogs and communities, and that perhaps Austin can provide a model to other cities. Other participants have included: Blue Dog Rescue, Lucky Mutts Rescue, City of Austin Animal Control, Travis County Animal Control, the Austin Humane Society, Emancipet, and Animal Trustees of Austin.
