DON'T LET MISCONCEPTIONS CREATE MISSED CONNECTIONS
We rescue dogs and match them with their favorite humans, whether it’s fostering or forever. It’s like dating, but everyone’s cute and nobody ghosts you!
LOYALTY WITHOUT RED FLAGSA DOG WON’T EVER “ACCIDENTALLY” LIKE THEIR EX’S POST.
A variety of dogs are looking for you – from young puppies to seniors, all with individual personalities. Pit bull type dogs need love the most right now, as they are often overlooked in shelters despite their loving nature.

“PIT BULL” IS NOT A BREED, IT’S A COLLECTIVE TERM DESCRIBING MANY TYPES OF DOGS’ FEATURES.
“Pit bull” is a term that can refer to several different breeds & mixes. Often, the label is based purely on physical traits like square heads, floppy ears, and muscular bodies. This causes many dogs to be mislabeled as “pit bulls” without any pittie type DNA.
PIT BULLS SURPASS GOLDEN RETRIEVERS IN TEMPERAMENT TESTING.
The American Temperament Test Society scored the four common breeds described as pitties in the top 20% of all dogs tested. Check out the data here.
WHY ARE PIT BULL'S OVERLOOKED IN SHELTERS?
“Pit bull” is the most common breed label in many shelters, despite it not actually being a breed, and the stereotypes and myths surrounding them don’t help. But every pup is an individual, and pitties can thrive like any other type of dog with love and care.
Fostering is a great way to get all the benefits of having a dog without the long term commitment.
What does it mean to foster a dog?Providing a temporary home for adoptable dogs. This gives pups a break from the stress of the shelter and frees up space for more animals to be saved.
Why are foster homes needed?
The biggest reason is that shelters are overcrowded and sometimes euthanize happy, healthy dogs to make space. Bringing a dog to your home temporarily allows the shelter to use that kennel space instead.
What are the other reasons?
A variety of needs! Shy, injured, and senior dogs benefit from being in a quieter place. Young puppies are safer outside of the shelter where illness can spread.
How long would I keep them?A single night, a few weeks, or until they’re adopted. It’s totally up to you & any amount of time can help save a life!
How much does it cost?Usually nothing! Most shelters and rescues provide everything, including vet care & food.
What if I have kids or other pets?A meet and greet should always be safely done with your family & pets, facilitated by the shelter or rescue.
